How to Set Up a Hookah Components

1. Pour cold water into the vase. Don’t overfill too much, leaving a little bit space for air is important to dilute the smoke and make it easy to draw on the hose.

2. Insert the hookah shaft into the base. Lower the shaft into the base, so the stem enters the water.

3. Connect the hoses. Attach all the hoses to the base.

4. Check the air flow. Try to inhale through a hose.

5. Position the metal tray on top of the hookah shaft. This tray catches hot embers and excess tobacco if and when they fall.

6. Break up the tobacco / shisha and place it in the bowl. Fill the bowl nearly to the top, but leave at least 2mm (3/32 inches) of space above the tobacco so it doesn’t burn.

7. Cover with aluminium foil. Use the aluminium foil to cover the tobacco then make a several holes.

8. Place the bowl on top of the hookah shaft.

9. Burn two or three of coconut charcoal briquette. Choose the best charcoal because it will affect the taste.

10. Place the coals to the aluminium foil. Place the coals when already burn perfectly.

11. Inhale. If you pull too hard, the air will get hot enough to char the shisha, and you’ll cough on a lungful of bad-tasting smoke. Pull with short, normal breaths. Just relax
